Honolulu Zoo Society Hosts Pair of Spook-tacular Halloween Events

HONOLULU (October 12, 2021) – It’ll be a boo-tiful weekend of spook-taculars tours and special events at the Honolulu Zoo this Halloween. 

“We’ve reimagined our traditional Boo at the Zoo weekend for 2021 to provide keiki and their ‘ohana a safe and educational time at the Honolulu Zoo,” said Mary Benson, Executive Director for the Honolulu Zoo Society. “Both our new Histories & Mysteries tour and HallowZoo SCARE-venger Hunt will get guests into the spirit of the season.”

Histories & Mysteries Tour – Friday, Oct. 29, and Sunday, Oct. 31, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

During this evening tour, guests will discover the history of the Honolulu Zoo, complete with highlights of supernatural sightings that have occurred over the years. The evening will include a special guest presentation on caring for the native Hawaiian hoary bat by Honolulu Zoo vet emeritus, Dr. Ben Okimoto. Twenty (20) tickets are available for each Histories & Mysteries Tour and are $20 for Honolulu Zoo Society members and $25 for non-members. Reservations are required and can be made online

Hallow-Zoo SCARE-venger Hunt – Sunday, Oct. 31, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Keiki and their families will follow creepy clues filled with freaky facts to track down

members of the Zoo’s animal ‘ohana and collect creature stamps along the way. The first 1,000 participants who turn in their completed SCAREvenger Hunt cards at the Triangle Lawn will receive a Halloween treat! Participation is free and included in admission to the Honolulu Zoo.
