The Zoo is 42 acres and home to 905 different animals from the tropics. Komodo Dragons, orangutans, elephants, primates, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and a variety of African animals can be seen daily. Be sure to see the wildest place in Waikiki!

From arrival to departure, explore the services and amenities that help make your visit to the Honolulu Zoo as smooth as possible.

Visit our Guest Services Office, located at the Zoo’s main entrance, if you have lost an item or child. Open daily to closing.

The Honolulu Zoo is accessible for people with wheelchairs. If you have additional needs for a guest with disabilities, please contact us with any questions.

Basic first-aid supplies are available at the Honolulu Zoo’s front entrance from open to close. If you need immediate assistance, please call 808.971.7174.

Strollers and wheelchairs are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis from the gift shop at the Zoo entrance.

  • Wheelchairs: $15
  • Double Strollers: $15
Rules pertaining to the stroller and wheelchair rentals:
  • Strollers and wheelchairs must be returned by 3:30PM.
  • Strollers and wheelchairs must be returned in the same condition as rented.
  • Credit card or government issued ID required for security deposit
Strollers:
  • Never leave infant or child unattended.
  • Don’t allow standing or tipping in stroller.
  • Heavy objects on canopy top may cause injury to child.
  • Use wheel lock when stopped, loading, and unloading child.
  • Maximum weight limit – single stroller: one child, 60lbs; double stroller: two children, 100lbs
    5 lb limit in pouch or hung on back.
Wheelchairs:
  • Maximum weight limit – 250lbs
  • Use wheel locks when stopped, and when getting in and out of wheelchair.
